About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Florence, just a few steps from the bustling city streets yet perfectly tucked away on Via del Parlagio, Trattoria Anita captures the very essence of authentic Tuscan dining. This charming Italian restaurant offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements its passionate dedication to traditional Tuscan and broader Italian cuisine.

Upon entering Trattoria Anita, you're enveloped by a cozy ambiance where the spirit of Florence comes alive—the clinking of glasses, the murmurs of delighted diners, and the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen create an irresistible sensory tapestry. The staff, attentive and genuinely kind, enhance the experience with their personal touch, making every guest feel like a cherished visitor to a local’s home.

The menu reads like a love letter to Tuscany’s rich culinary heritage. Standout dishes such as the legendary Bistecca Alla Fiorentina offer a succulent, flavorful cut of meat perfectly grilled to preserve its juicy tenderness and smoky char. For pasta lovers, options like Pici Al Cinghiale—hand-rolled noodles served with a hearty wild boar sauce—and Tagliatelle Alla Fiorentina exhibit the rustic, comforting flavors that Tuscan food is famed for. The Bruschetta topped with fresh tomato and creamy stracchiatella introduces the meal with vibrant freshness, an ideal starter brought to life by the perfect balance of textures.

Seafood, game, and vegetable lovers alike will find treasures such as Cinghiale In Umido (wild boar stew) and Risotto with Porcini that beautifully marry deep, earthy tastes with refined technique. And no Tuscan meal would be complete without a sweet finish: the Tiramisù at Trattoria Anita is a revelation—light, creamy, and imbued with the perfect hint of espresso, it’s been hailed by guests as the best they’ve ever savored.

Complementing the dishes is the house wine, served by the litre, encouraging relaxed, convivial sipping that lingers into conversation and laughter. Diners have praised the balanced, smooth Chianti as the ideal companion to their meals.

Customer feedback paints a vivid portrait of this gem: Margaret Tyburski describes how after a wet climb to the Duomo, the warmth and depth of the food at Trattoria Anita offered comforting relief—a sentiment echoed by many who relish both the authenticity of the cuisine and the approachable, friendly service of staff like Davide. Frequent visitors appreciate the balance of genuine Italian hospitality with a welcoming attitude toward foreign guests, as Katy Baggs notes, making it a perfect spot for anyone yearning for real Tuscan flavors without pretense or rush.

Yes, some have experienced slightly longer waits, a testament perhaps to the care with which each dish is prepared—ensuring the quality and authenticity are never compromised. Yet even this aspect is softened by the genuine atmosphere where you feel immersed not just in a meal, but in the everyday life of Florence.

Trattoria Anita isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a taste of Tuscany’s soul carefully crafted in every bite, served with Italian warmth where every visit feels like coming home. Whether you're sampling the delicate tang of ravioli with pear and cheese or resting after a day of sightseeing, this trattoria offers an unforgettable culinary embrace that makes Florence feel all the more magical.

Trattoria Anita is just steps from where we were staying. We stopped by for lunch after our wet climb to the top of the Duomo. We needed warm, delicious food. And that’s what we got. Davide, our server, was kind, personable and efficient. We first ordered a cafe correcto (espresso with Sambuca) followed by two glasses of Chianti. The bruschetta with tomato and stracchiatella was fresh and superb. My husband had the Beef Stew with Roasted Potatoes. The beef was like butter and he couldn’t get enough of its sauce/gravy. I had the Country-style mixed fry (chicken and rabbit) with fried vegetables. While I enjoyed the tempura style fried veggies I think I would have preferred the chicken and rabbit in a gravy/sauce not breaded and friend. Capped it off with some lemoncello and espresso. We are going to back for the florentine steak.

Very welcoming staff, cozy atmosfere, accommodating to foreign guests but happy to let you practically be your Italian if you want, and it goes without saying that the food was very authentic and delicious! Not overpriced for the area either.

The ravioli with pear and cheese is divine. I have never tasted such authentic ravioli. The sweetness of the pear was balanced with the creamy sauce. The tiramisu is the best i have ever had. Service was attentive and warm. Excellent. Best restaurant i have visited in my week in florence.

Giod place in center of the city but steps away from busy street. Found it accidentally, didn't want to eat on busy streets restaurants. Food was good but a bit long wait, I mean longer than I would expect. Service was good but also good a bit longer than I would expect considering amount of people. I liked atmosphere. You feel truly in Florence. Anyway it is good alternative to super busy restaurants on main streets.

During our short stay in Florence we decided to give Trattoria Anita a try. It was so good we had to come back the next night! We loved the beef stew especially but all dishes we tried were fantastic. Our servers Davide and Tarik were extremely friendly and had great recommendations as well. My wife and I have been traveling Italy for a couple of weeks and this has been our favorite restaurant! Would highly recommend!

The dining experience was fantastic. The food and service were both excellent. Our waiter was attentive and provided helpful suggestions for wine, main course, and dessert. The price was reasonable considering the quality of the food.

Excellent place! Super chill atmosphere that invites you to focus on enjoying what you are eating. Everything was beyond my expectations, super tasty and we'll served. The service was flawless, making you feel you were being served by family. And the price was cheap, considered all the things I had. Super recommended!
